CARRAA/CARB Fee:

Due to the California Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 (CARRAA), the higher CARB diesel regulations and other unique fuel capacity and distribution issues; the cost of fuel has increased significantly in the State of California.  To off-set this extra cost, Safey-Kleen will be including the added costs imposed by the 5% CARRAA fee as well as other factors affecting California fuel prices into a distinct, variable recovery fee for customers in California only.

The California recovery fee will be calculated and adjusted monthly (as are recovery fee rates for overall US and Canada) and will be indexed based on the prior month’s average price of diesel in the State of California, to cover the difference between the National average price of diesel fuel and the California price of diesel fuel.
