At Safety-Kleen, we believe true environmental stewardship begins with recycling and reusing as much of what we collect from our customers as possible. Safety-Kleen is the leading re-refiner of used oil in North America, collecting more than 200 million gallons of waste oil every year and re-refining it back into high-quality oil and other products that extend the life of this precious resource. In addition we recycle 20 million gallons of spent parts washing solvent each year. Our recycling and re-refining reduces our nation’s reliance on foreign oil by more than 5 million barrels per year.
While we prefer to recycle or reuse as much material as possible, there are some wastes that cannot be recycled or reused. These waste streams are also managed using environmentally sound practices that protect the environment and are compliant with all laws and regulations.
